Update: It’s Baby Time!

At around 2 a.m., Jesse called with three words: “It’s game time!” My wife and I hurried across town to stay with Gunner while Jesse and Kyrstin headed to St. Luke’s downtown. Jesse won’t be on his route today and will likely not be out on Friday. However, one of our other technicians will cover the route scheduled for today on Friday. We apologize for any inconvenience, but it’s BABY TIME!

This will be grandchild number eight for us—or ten if we count our two bonus grandchildren from Kyrstin’s best friend!

I’ll likely be up most of the night caring for Gunner, so I may not be in the best shape during the day. I also have a spinal ablation scheduled for today. I might need to step away from my desk, so I won’t be able to respond to incoming texts. Thank you for understanding!

End of Update

Yesterday, sprinkler blowout operations went exceptionally well. We had only two locations that weren’t previously canceled, and one of those clients paid their invoice on the spot while the technician was there.

Our trainee couldn’t keep up with the demands of the job. The days were too long for him, among other factors. This surprised us, especially given his background as a Marine—we thought he’d be able to manage the remaining 2-3 weeks as we finish up our current list in the valley. Maybe we need some Army Special Forces or Navy SEALs to complete the job. Now, those are folks I can relate to! LOL

We can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel for sprinkler blowouts. If everything goes smoothly for the rest of the season, we should be finished by the first week after Thanksgiving. New requests and some cancellations are coming in daily, which helps keep our schedule balanced.

We’re expecting some cold nights toward the end of the week. While this won’t impact underground piping, it could affect any filters, backflow preventers, or pumps exposed to the elements. Use the links below to identify your system type and pre-winterize it in preparation for your sprinkler blowout. If you have a PVB and prefer not to winterize it, simply wrap it in a towel and cover it with a bucket for protection. If you choose to pre-winterize, please send me a text, and I’ll add the information to your work order.
