Sprinkler Blowouts For Monday, November 18, 2024

Last night, I was texting with Brian, one of our technicians, and he shared this observation:

“I’m still puzzled by the contrast between customers. At one house, they greet me by name because they follow the blog. At the next, I’m treated like a door-to-door solar panel salesperson about to be kicked off the porch—until I explain why I’m there. Then they say they’ve never heard from you.”

I explained to him that the reason is simple: those who claim they “never heard from us” didn’t read the terms or pay attention. They either ignore their notification texts or set their phones to block messages from unknown numbers. It’s ironic, considering they signed up for a service stating they’ll be notified via text. But they’d have to read the terms and follow the instructions to understand that.

Our system is straightforward, but every year, there’s always a group that makes it unnecessarily complicated.

If everything goes as planned this week, we should complete around 350 sprinkler blowouts by Friday. This would allow us to finish the remaining jobs on our current list by next Tuesday.

I hope we get about 200 more blowouts beyond what’s currently on the list, but we’ll see how things unfold. Every year, we get last-minute procrastinators who either forgot to schedule their blowout or new homeowners who just discovered their sprinklers weren’t winterized before closing. We understand both situations and will ensure they’re taken care of.

We might even reopen parts of Canyon County or Star to see if additional requests come in.
