The winter went by way too quickly. Seems like I just finished sprinkler blowouts…….
Last fall, out of a total of nearly 1,200 sprinkler blowout requests that were made, we ran into about a dozen customers who failed to read our terms of service and follow them, which created a lot of hassle in lost time and paperwork when they failed to cancel their sprinkler blowout as directed, or didn't read our updates, text messages, etc., that we wer going to be in their area. Coupled with some other issues we faced, we had to create a form for our sprinkler system start-ups for our protection as well as for our customers so they will know what to expect. We have also re-written our Terms Of Service, and will most likely "tweak" it throughout the summer as the need arises. There will be changes made to the sprinkler blowout form as well before the fall season starts.
We are beginning our sprinkler system start-ups today for those on city or well water. Irrigation water is starting to flow through the canals, but it will be another week or so before there is enough pressure to supply neighborhoods around the valley.
Depending on which package is chosen, a sprinkler system start-up can take almost as long a a sprinkler blowout, but overall will be faster. We will still be organizing them by zip code areas to make better use of our time. Those who selected text notifications and updates will receive a message the night before, or early the day of.
To also make better use of our time, we will be doing sprinker system start-ups only until we get them all completed before we head around again to do any needed repairs. We will note any repairs needed at the time of the start-up, and let you know then or in an email. If there is a problem with a particular zone, it can be turned off until we return. Those with really serious issues such as not being able to use their sprinkler system at all will be addressed first once start-ups are complete.
We try to keep our truck stocked up with the most common sprinkler heads, nozzles, etc., but we can still run into some oddball sprinkler parts that we will have to pick up.
