Sprinkler Start-Ups Begin In A Few More Days

We are planning to get started on our sprinkler start-ups on Thursday, April 13.  Originally we were going to start on the 12th, but tis the season…… have an appointment with my accountant for taxes.

The rainy weather is keeping our yards going in the meantime.  Currently, we only have about 60 to do, which is quite manageable.  For those new to our method of operation in the spring, we primarily go around and quickly turn on all sprinklers, and if requested, minor adjustments, etc., and then come back and do any needed repairs after all or most are turned on.  That way everyone has water and their sprinkler systems going if they need it, however, they won't likely be needed for awhile.

Those who chose package "B" or "C" will need to leave us access to the timer if you want us to get it set up for spring watering.  In the summer the timer will need to be adjusted again, which we can do for you, or you can make the changes if you know how.

On another note, I just finished the state required backflow testing program and passed my practical test in the lab.  I now have to schedule a 100 question written test and pass it to get my "Backflow Assembly Tester" license.  I have been putting it off for years because it is a quite expensive process for class, equipment purchase, licensing, etc.  Every year I have to pay to have my equipment re-calibrated, and every two years I will have to pay for and take a recertification class as well to keep up on any current changes, plus the licensing fee each year by the state of Idaho.  I hope to gain more business from our current customers who have backflows that needed tested and or repaired, and pick up new customers as well.  We have always been able to repair or replace backflow assemblies, but it will be nice to be able to test them as well.

Keep an eye out here for more updates.  I hope to text and/or email those who have signed up this spring when I will be in their area, and possibly post a route here on this blog as we do during sprinkler blowouts.
