This will be my last post until Monday morning.
I am giving the snow a chance to melt off some more before I resume sprinkler blowouts. It is hard enough sometimes to find valve boxes under normal conditions when they are not uncovered as our customers have agreed to do when they submitted their request, so when they are covered with snow it is pretty much impossible. Also, although snow is a great insulator, if there is 3 or 4 inches or more on the ground it generally puts too muh weight on the heads and they won't pop up.
I will remind again on Monday, but DO NOT TAKE THE LIDS OFF THE VALVE BOXES, THE VALVES WILL FREEZE and i will not be able to blow them out. The same goes for the main boxes as well.
UPDATE
According to the weather report for the area, there is supposed to be more snow in Boise on Monday. I will be finishing up about 8 or so sprinkler blowouts I had already scheduled in Nampa and Caldwell before the snow hit on Thursday, and Nampa and Caldwell is supposed to be free from snowfall for Monday, but we will have to wait and see. However, If there is more snow, we will not be able to do sprinkler blowouts because of the reasons stated above.
Here are some images of upcoming weather conditions for Nampa, Meridian, and Boise. Surrounding areas such as Star, Kuna, Eagle, etc., are about the same. Click on each image for a larger view.
