Jesse is out sick today, so he will not make it to his route in the 83702. We will get that set for tomorrow if he is back on his feet. Sorry for the inconvenience. Todd will be driving Cyclone today on his route in the 83712.

End Of Update

First of all, happy birthday, mom! (RIP) My mother was born on this day in 1935 and passed away in 2009, at the age of 73.

Yesterday was an interesting day. A few reel problems, but the most significant thing was my blood sugar spiked high enough to worry Primary Health so they sent me to St. Luke’s ER on Eagle Rd., and I stayed there for around 6 hours or so being poked, prodded, scanned, etc. Definitely NOT the way I wanted to spend my evening, and it put me WAY behind on routing and this post because I didn’t get back until after 11 p.m. So, the texts went out REALLY late because I had to figure out where we were going and then route all the addresses. We will be back in some of the areas we were in yesterday to finish up the current list so we can move further west in the valley. Purple Rain has a switch issue where the reel wants to roll up all by itself, so we will be working on that first thing in the morning before it goes out on its adventure.

After all these years and 50,000+ blowouts later I realize during this time of year we are playing our own version of “Whack A Mole.” Have you ever played the game? Hit the mole with a club when it pops up out of its hole, and wait for another one, and keep doing it until the time runs out……  That’s what our sprinkler blowouts are like. We “Whack” anywhere from 50 to 80 sprinkler blowouts a day only to come back and find 60 or more new signups. We had nearly 1,000 already signed up by our start date on Monday. There will be times when we will get 100+ signups in one day.

Some may seem a little light because there are either several on one street, or they are a little light. I got back so late that I didn’t get a chance to put a major list together in time to get it out to our customers. If anyone finishes their route they have instructions to help someone else who is behind, or I can give them some stops in their zip code that are on our list but haven’t been notified.
