We encourage all sprinkler blowouts customers to use the RSS feed other means to track our posts, and as stated in our Terms Of Service to check this blog every day during the sprinkler blowouts season.
We were originally planning on starting sprinkler blowouts this season on Monday, October 5, but after hearing from several customers that irrigation water would still be running to many subdivisions until the 9th, we made a change. If we shut down a pressurized irrigation system from within a valve box when it is still pressurized, we can blow out the system, but there could still be water in the line behind the valve that depending on the angle of the line could stay there afterwards when the main system is drained and freeze. To avoid that, if available, we shut down the main valve deep in the ground. Of course, with city systems it doesn't matter; Water can be shut off at any time.
During this time before sprinkler blowouts we are trying to tie up loose ends from several repair jobs and get our equipment tuned and ready for this season's onslaught. We are getting new and repeat customer requests every day in our inbox and they are being added to our list. By October 7 we should have a good idea on where the largest concentration is so far to give us a starting point. This will be posted on this blog by the late evening of the 7th so customers can be prepared for us to come by the following day by leaving access to gates, valve boxes, timers, etc.
