Jesse will be training another tech today. This one is my nephew, Challis, so I am sure he will work out fine. After all, I have known him since he was born……
We will only have two rigs out today, and unless Challis needs another day of training there will be 3 rigs out on Tuesday. (Vinny left us; he wants to do his route and not work on anyone else’s after he finishes his own.) We need team players willing to help each other out in a time of need. Fortunately, we only have 2-3 weeks left on blowouts. We may do some into December if the demand is there, but by then we won’t need all rigs out. Usually, one or two do the job by that point.
Our ad is still running for another tech to get us through the next 2-3 weeks or so. We have had pretty good responses, but I believe some of them are just checking in to meet their unemployment requirements.
The calendar at this point is not accurate. A LOT of changes need to be made. Mondays are usually crazy in the office, but I am going to try and get it properly updated today. We know it won’t stay that way, but if we received no more requests and no more cancellations we could finish our current list in 15 working days. Requests will slow some anyway once November 10 gets here and we raise our price by $10 for all new requests from that day on until the end of the month. The largest majority of people sign up well before our normal price increase day, which is best for them and for us. They are locked in at the early sign-up price.
The routes for today are shorter than usual because we are trying to clean up those two areas. Once they finish their routes I can add some more from possibly the 83713 to finish out the day. It will be getting dark earlier now with the time change, so techs won’t get as much done as they have been getting. There will be no notifications for any stops after the routes are complete. Hopefully, we don’t run into any non-cancellations. We shouldn’t because once you no longer need service you cancel then. You don’t wait until someone lets you know they are coming…
Keep in mind also that as the streets are listed, many times there is more than one on a particular street.

Do you know when you will be covering Boise 83704? I submitted a blowout request more then a week ago and I don’t know when I’m on the schedule yet.
Thanks!
Deslyn, we will let you know the night before as you read in our terms of service when you signed up. We have over 100 to do in the 83704, so when we get back there we will likely be there for a few days.
83716 got dropped from the calendar when the driver did not work out. Any idea when 83716 will get back on? I am getting worried that my valves might freeze and burst when it gets colder later this week,
Valve freezing won’t happen. It has to get below freezing and STAY there for a few days or even more the be a problem. That is why we are able to do blowouts into December in the snow, even. Here is a link where you can see how to easily pre-winterize your system while waiting for a blowout. That information is also in the terms of service you read when you signed up with us. Protect Your System
Thanks so much, I appreciate the response!
Hey Steve,
I will check back on the calendar tomorrow but curious when you are making another run through Star. Thanks!
It will be sometime next week for sure. Two-Thirds of all our remaining blowouts are in Meridian, Boise 83709, and Boise 83704. We have to get them at a more manageable level this week which will allow us to get to all the other areas in need of another pass.
I followed your instructions for winterizing a DC backflow, shut off main water supply, open drain, open test valves, turned shutoffs, etc. Everything went fine. I have two in-ground valve boxes so i opened the valve bleed screws and then loosened the solenoids for each valve. In one box everything went fine, but in the second box after i did the steps the box gradually filled up with water. Is that probably just water draining from the bleeds, or possibly something more dire? I have not done this before so I dont know what is normal to expect.

Charles. You did everything correctly. That is likely back pressure from the system and nothing to worry about. Keep an eye on it. It should go back down.
