We are at the end of our fourth week of sprinkler blowouts and have completed 1,627 blowouts. That is 505 more completed than this time last year!
“Cyclone” was out Saturday for a half-day, and “Orange Julius” was out Sunday for a half-day and cleaned up some of the Meridian 83646 that are repeat costomers that signed up back in September early when we sent out our email newsletter. That took about 20 or so off our list.
Unfortunately, we have come to that time of the season where we lose an hour of daylight. Isn’t the time change a wonderful thing? This definitely cuts into our productivity toward the end of the day. We could start earlier, but most people don’t want to be disturbed before 8 a.m. even if it is to blow out their sprinklers. So instead of the 80 or so we usually get completed in a day, it could drop as low as 70. We shall see what happens…….
For a time we were getting anywhere between 150 and 170 new requests every day, but that has slowed down enough that we are actually completing several more per day than what we are getting in. This is typical; happening every year. We should be on the downhill side now since we have completed twice as many as we currently have active that haven’t been serviced yet. We do expect to receive at least 4,000 requests this year by the time we shut down for the season.
I am still working on the calendar. We need to get to all our customers throughout Ada county, but also have to concentrate a lot of time in Meridian and Boise 83709 which together makes up about 45% of our current active requests that have not been serviced yet. Here are the routes for today:

Hi! I was wondering when you would be coming to Kuna?
According to our calendar, the 12th, but if we can keep up the pace we are on it could be sooner. If things go awry, then a day or so later.
I’m in the Paramount subdivision, on Bacall Street, and I see Green Machine is headed to my area, 83646, with a few other Paramount streets listed (Fox Run and Valentino). Is there a reason you’re not also hitting Bacall Street while you’re here? I know my next door neighbor and I are both signed up.
You and two others on the same street are on the route. Just a typo when I typed the list on the blog. It is very late at night when I do the posts…….
Great, thanks Steve!
Good afternoon,I know you are really busy, but I had the same question. I am on Peppard Ave which connects to Bacall, in Paramount. I haven’t received an email about anyone coming by today. Are you hoping to be by today, or will you guys be back to Paramount on another day? I just want to be sure we are still on the list.
Thank you so much!
Misti, we don’t leave anyone behind, so yes, we will be back in the area. You weren’t on the route for today. There are only so many we can do in a day. If there is time left over I can have Zyad swing by to your place. Paramount is too large to cover in one day with one machine, and we use a routing software that finds the next closest job to the previous job, which sometimes means someone in a neighborhood may get skipped on that day. Definitely not forgotten.
Perfect! Thank you so much. We are brand new to the area and to sprinkler blowouts and how it all works. Not something we ever had in Alaska.
Thanks again.
I am guessing you probably didn’t need a in-ground sprinkler system in Alaska. 🙂
