I updated our 2016 Sprinkler Blowouts Stats page if you want to check it out to see how we are doing and what we have left. Click on "Sprinkler Blowout Stats" under "Categories" in the right-side menu.
I finished all but three of the sprinkler blowouts I had on my Meridian 83646 list yesterday, and we gained another one when I downloaded the days new requests. I will be getting to those first thing today, and then moving on. See our route map at the bottom of this post. Click on the image to enlarge.
Protect Your Backflow Preventer And Vacuum Breakers
The majority of the sprinkler blowouts we have left to do are from those who just signed up within the last three or four days, or within the past 10 days, and with the temperatures dropping it could cause some havoc on exposed PVC pipe or brass vacuum breakers and backflow preventers. Buried sprinkler lines and heads will be fine for quite some time yet because the ground is still warm, but there are some simple steps you can take to protect your system while waiting for a sprinkler blowout. I wrote this post several years ago that explains what you can do. Click here to read it.
