Sprinkler Blowouts For Tuesday, October 23, 2023

We decided to close down all of Canyon County to new requests and will get to the ones that signed up before we shut down once we make our rounds through Boise and Meridian. We have referred Middleton and Caldwell to Dave Mein’s company who referred all his areas to us this year. Once we close down Star, we will also refer that town to Dave as well. It amazes me though, that even after putting “Nampa – CLOSED to new requests” in the city dropdown, we still had two come in anyway. I am scratching my head on that one. We had several people sign up yesterday and then immediately text me wanting an appointment date. Didn’t they just read line #1 in our terms where it says we don’t make appointments for sprinkler blowouts? I will scratch my head on that one as well……

Jesse will be working on “The Outer Limits” today and completing his day in a section of Meridian. “The Outer Limits” consists of all the areas outside of Canyon and Ada Counties. Melba, Fruitland, Parma, Emmett, etc. I took the name for the TV show that ran from 1963-1965. All you old-timers like me should remember that show…..

We are making drastic changes to our schedule to do the light freeze we are facing this week. Even though we take no responsibility for frozen backflow preventers because customers have the right to go elsewhere if they don’t like our timeline, we would rather get to as many as we can before the freeze. All those on pressurized irrigation have several weeks before it gets cold enough to hurt underground piping. That goes for City systems as well, except for those that have PVBs or RPs installed that are required to be above ground. Ones with DC’s underground have nothing to worry about with the freeze. It will be so light anyway, that all most have to do is throw a bucket over their PVB for the night and it will be fine. We do have a link to where you see the steps to winterize your system while waiting for a blowout. The link is in the terms ya’ll agreed to when you signed up. I will probably send out an email tomorrow to everyone it the steps on protecting your system while waiting for a blowout. Quite easy to do, really. Here is the link if you didn’t happen to save it when reading the terms:  Protect your system
