The major water main repair we mentioned yesterday took a lot longer than expected, so we are behind again. We have the main house water on now, and will finish the sprinkler system portion after all the blowouts are finished for the season. If all goes well, we should have the remaining blowouts completed throughout the valley by December 8 at the earliest, and December 11 by the latest. The biggest problem we are running into is above ground piping that has frozen. The lines in the yards are fine because the ground hasn't frozen beyond an inch, but galvanized or poly pipe above ground is frozen unless the steps I suggested were taken to drain them out. We spent much of our time again yesterday thawing above ground galvanized pipe with a propane torch so the air could pass through.
We are adjusting our schedule again to account for this issue, which has thrown us off a day or so from our original route. It is supposed to warm up by Thursday, which will eliminate the frozen above ground pipes, which will hopefully get us moving faster again. It is taking twice as long if not more now to do a sprinkler blowout.
