It was a fairly decent day yesterday in Sprinkler Blowout Land. The last few weeks are usually pretty rough as we incorporate several zip codes on one route as we “clean up” because there is usually a good amount of travel time between zip codes. For instance, Jesse was working in Kuna and the 83716 area around Gowan Rd., from Federal Way over to the area off of Warm Springs. Jesse is an animal, though, and he finished his entire route. That’s just 10 years of experience and over 6,000 blowouts.
Mike was in five different zip codes yesterday and finished all but two of his stops which he will take care of this morning. He does quite well for someone only about 4 months younger than I am. Bruno finished four zip codes and then helped Brian with some of his. Teamwork is a requirement in this job.
Of course, EVERY zip code we went to yesterday ended up getting new requests coming in that will have to wait until our final pass next week when we finish up Meridian and the 83709. Of course, if there is any time left on any of the routes this week we are going to fill it with the 83646 since it has more left than any of the others.
We did get a good amount of new requests yesterday. More than in the last three days combined. When the temperature changes the count goes up. I can tell just by the daily request count if there is a weather change coming or not. Funny how that works.
