– We closed down some more zip codes yesterday so we can better work with what we have. If we get caught up, we may open a few again, but only close to Meridian. The guys hated working in the rain yesterday, but the warmer temperatures will keep any freeze from reaching sprinkler piping for several more weeks. Last year I did a test on December 7 with the soil in my yard and the temperature 6 inches down was only 34 degrees, so it hadn’t hit freezing even by then. With the cold weather we had last winter, I am pretty sure it did reach freezing level by January. The good news about that is it gives us plenty of time to finish sprinkler blowouts. If you have a city system with a backflow preventer that is above ground, we suggest winterizing the device while waiting for a sprinkler blowout. There is a link to the page in our terms, and you can also find the info on our website. We put that together several years ago to help people out whether they be our customers or not.
